The group shared the functional requirements and five designs that they were each charged with creating.  Once done, the designs were observed and even more sketches were devised.  Thetotal number of designs exceeded 45, and were soon after eliminated based upon the functional requirements that were agreed upon.

 

 

 


 

There were two surviving designs from the process of elimination (see right).  The first was a bicycle-like design, in which the rider straddles the vehicle and the driver simply pulls.  The bicycle design also features a frame with an incline, so that if it leans backward, the wheels on back will make contact with the ground, and stabilize the vehicle.  The second was a dolly-like design, in which the driver changes the angle of inclination in order to pull the rider around.
